Vote no Amendment 83
Our State. Our Constitution.
Colorado's Amendment 83 is billed as a “constitutional right to hunt and fish." Hunting and fishing are already legal in Colorado, so this amendment wouldn’t protect them — it would change the rules for everyone.
Why we're voting no to Amendment 83.
Hunting and fishing are already legal.
So why do they need special constitutional protection?
"Traditional methods."
This amendment could bring back things Colorado voters have outlawed for being cruel and unsportsmanlike.
“Sound scientific wildlife management.”
Who decides what that means?
“Preferred means.”
Why should one outdoor activity receive a constitutional preference over all others?
Amendment 83 isn't simply about “protecting hunting and fishing.” It would take decisions out of the hands of Colorado voters.
This isn't about hunting. It's about who gets to have a voice.
Whose Constitution Is It?
Ours. Not theirs.
- This is a national campaign but Colorado deserves to make our own decision.
- A "right to hunt and fish" isn't an idea unique to Colorado. Similar constitutional amendments have been promoted around the country by national organizations.
- We believe Colorado's wildlife policy should be shaped by Coloradans: our voters and our communities, not by a one-size-fits-all national agenda.
